A quiet weekend at home, half heartedly preparing for Issac, enjoying the calm before the storm (pre-hurricane weather is the best!) and snapping photos of my favorite little girl.  I can't believe she will be 3 in just over a month!

According to the latest track Issac will stay well to the West of us, though we will see a lot of rain and some strong winds.  School is closed tomorrow so I will be working from home on the busiest day of the month while keeping Kaylin entertained indoors.  Wish me luck!

I LOVE the way this photo turned out!!

Happy Friday!!!!

This week I started school, and mother like daughter, I LOVE it!!!  After my first class I am more excited than ever about what the future holds.  To add to the excitement, one of my classmates lives in our neighborhood and has a 2.5 year old son, can you say play/study date?!  The only downside to school is the time taken away from my baby girl.  So today I finished up work, picked Kaylin up from school early, came home and made a yummy after school treat.

I think dinner is officially ruined...

The weekend I sooo looked forward to ended up not only passing by way to quickly but it was filled with to-do lists, errands, and a very trying 2 year old.  So, instead I am going to post a few pictures from our week at Liki Tiki Village.

We visited Liki Tiki for an end of summer/birthday celebration.  At the last minute we decided to drive over late at night after work, because well, we had the room and wanted to use it.  After a yummy birthday dinner with the girls we loaded up the car, put K in her pj's (hoping she would sleep) and around 9pm we were off!  Unfortunately for us we put the wrong address into our GPS and ended up driving to the resort's corporate office and not the resort itself, this put us 30 minutes past our destination.  As we turned around, Kaylin woke up in the backseat after only having fallen asleep 20 minutes earlier, it was now after 11pm.  We arrived at the resort, check in went smooth, and as we unloaded the luggage up to our third floor condo (found the elevator and luggage cart the next day...) Kaylin enjoyed a midnight snack of PB&J.

Midnight snacker!  Sorry for the grainy photo, I was exhausted and only had my phone.

I really dig this girl!

We spent 4 days at Liki Tiki, the resort is great, they have 3 pools, a small waterpark, mini golf, bicycles, fishing, and paddle-boats.  It was a great trip for the family and a much needed few days of sun and relaxation.

Finally, it's the weekend!  We spent the last week creating some amazing memories.  It has been an exhausting but exhilarting time filled with fun, laughter, and a few tears.

Kaylin started preschool on Monday, we chose a private school near our home that continues through 12th grade, it's a cozy environment with small classes and a place we feel comfortable.  I cannot begin to tell you how excited Kaylin was about her first day, the night before we told her what to expect, practiced saying her teacher's name, and we taught her to raise her hand and say "I know, I know!"  Dropping her off on Monday morning was tough (for mommy and daddy, K was fine!)  It wasn't our first time leaving her during the day, she's been in daycare part time for almost 2 years, but this time was different.  This week starts the beginning of school, for the next 16 years she will be attending school 5 days a week.  While I feel like we are missing out on so much time with her I know that it is going to be great for her.  I do have to admit parts of it excite me too, I am enjoying making her fun lunches with special treats in them, the art work she brings home is proudly displayed all over the house, I even signed up to be a homeroom mom!  Kaylin, well she LOVES school, she chatters non-stop about her class and a certain boy named Sam.
